Opening of the Convocation
All Companions will be seated at 09h45.
The District Grand King Designate, District Deputy Grand King and District Assistant Grand King will enter with the District Grand Chapter clothed in their designated regalia except their Chains of Office.
- District Grand Chapter to enter Chapter Room under the direction of the District Grand Director of Ceremonies.
- Roll Call of District Grand Chapter Officers.
- The District Grand Chapter will be opened in due form by the M.E. District Grand King at 10h00.
- The Dispensation Notice convening the Communication will be read.
- The M.E. District Grand King to welcome the Grand Installing Officer, Distinguished Companions and Brethren from DGC South African Northern and from Sister Constitutions.

Principal installation
Installation of the District Grand King
- The M.E. Grand Installing Officer will direct the District Grand Registrar to read the Patent of Appointment of the District Grand King Designate.
- The M.E. Installing Officer will request the District Grand Director of Ceremonies to form the procession and present the District Grand King Designate.
The Procession will consist of

- District Grand Chaplain and District Grand Secretary
- District Grand King Designate’s escorts: Comp. W. Morris and Comp. C. Tanner

- E. Comp. R. Sagrestano, bearing DGK Chain
- The District Grand Director of Ceremonies will receive the Patent of Appointment from the District Grand Registrar before departing the Chapter Room.
- The Procession will retire from the Chapter Room.
- After giving the appropriate knocks, the District Grand Director of Ceremonies will inform the District Grand Janitor that the District Grand King Designate, R.E. Comp. Neville Bramley, accompanied by his escorts and procession, requests permission to enter the Provincial Grand Chapter.
- The District Grand Janitor will announce to the M.E. Grand Installing Officer that the District Grand King Designate with his escorts and procession request to be admitted.
- The M.E. Grand Installing Officer will instruct the District Grand Janitor to admit the District Grand King Designate with his escorts and procession.
- The Procession with the District Grand King Designate will enter the Chapter Room and perambulate the Chapter once.
- The Companions and Brethren, standing, will sing the following Ode:
Genius of Masonry descend,
And with Thee bring Thy spotless train;
Do at our sacred rites attend,
Whilst we adore Thy peaceful reign.
Lord, do Thou our Rulers bless
With Wisdom, strength and happiness;

- The District Grand King Designate, R.E. Comp. Neville Bramley, will be presented to the M.E. Grand Installing Officer and placed before the Altar.
- The M.E. Grand Installing Officer will direct the District Grand Registrar to read the Patent of Appointment.
- The M.E. Grand Installing Officer will request the Provincial Grand King Designate to kneel for prayer.
- The District Grand Chaplain will offer prayer:
Oh Lord, King of Heaven and Earth,
Excellent art Thou in Thy Truth and
there is nothing great in comparison
with Thee, for Thine is the praise for all
the Works of Thy hands forever more.
Enlighten us we beseech Thee in true
knowledge of Masonry;
Unite us in the ties of brotherly love,
kindness and charity and keep us in the
same until the end of our days.
Bestow on this our worthy Companion,
about to be numbered amongst the rulers
of the Royal Arch, wisdom to comprehend,
judgment to define and ability to
maintain the Ancient Landmarks and
Constitutions of our Order. Amen.
- The M.E. Grand Installing Officer will administer the Obligation to the District Grand King Designate.
- The District Grand Director of Ceremonies will escort the District Grand King to the Throne East of the Altar.
- The M.E. Grand Installing Officer will invest M.E. Comp. Neville Bramley with the insignia of his Office, place him in the Chair and deliver unto him his Patent of Appointment, the Grand Chapter Laws and Constitutions and the By-laws of the District Grand Chapter of Southern Cape District.
- The M.E. Grand Installing Officer will proclaim that:
Proclamation“Be it known that by virtue of the Patent issued by the Most Excellent and Supreme Grand King, Most Excellent Companion ????, the Most Excellent Grand King of the Most Excellency and Supreme Grand Chapter of Ireland, that Most Excellent Companion Neville Bramley, Past Captain of the Host of Ireland, Past District Deputy Grand King of the District Grand Chapter of Southern Cape District, Irish Constitution, Past Excellent King of Excelsior Royal Arch Chapter No. 368 I.C., has this day been installed as District Grand King of the District Grand Chapter of Southern Cape District of the Most Excellent and Supreme Grand Chapter of Ireland, and may the blessing of the Most High rest upon and remain with him.”
- The Immediate Past District Grand King, M.E. Comp. Dan Buckle, will take up his Office as District Grand Director of Ceremonies.
- The Immediate Past District Grand King, M.E. Comp. Dan Buckle, will call upon all Companions to salute the newly installed M.E. District Grand King.
- The Companions in the procession will return to their seats under the direction of the District Grand Director of Ceremonies. All Companions will be seated.

- The M.E. District Grand King announces that he has appointed R.E. Comp. Robert Sandells as District Deputy Grand King.
- The M.E. District Grand King will request the District Grand Director of Ceremonies to form the procession and present the District Deputy Grand King Designate, R.E. Comp. Robert Sandells, for his Installation.

- The M.E. District Grand King will call upon the District Grand Director of Ceremonies to salute the newly installed District Deputy Grand King.

- The M.E. District Grand King extends to all Companions an invitation to partake in Refreshment after the District Grand Chapter Convocation.
- The M.E. District Grand King will thank all Companions for their attendance.
- The M.E. District Grand King will ask the M.E. Grand Installing Officer if he wishes to retire with Grand Chapter Officers.
- The M.E. District Grand King will close the District Grand Chapter.
- The District Grand Director of Ceremonies will attend to the retirement of the District Grand Chapter of the Southern Cape District of the Most Excellent and Supreme Grand Chapter of Ireland.
